pajama time

My cousin Ashlie and her husband Luke had a Pajama party at their house this morning. They are always planning parties for the family. They have the best parties. Creative and fun! We had a big yummy breakfast that every one contributed and brought something for it. We played a fun game with slippers, and hung out. Thanks Ashlie, Luke and Cole!

the burn out!

So I have been trying to lose weight. I have lost 6 pounds since the beginning of January!
So last night at the gym I wanted to go crazy and burn 1,000 calories while I was there. I was there for over 3 hours. One hour and half was spent taking care of kids. But with a total of one hour and 45 min of working out, I burnt 1,000 calories. Just about killed me, but I did it. I am so regretting it today!!! I am soooooo sore! Last night I kept waking up because my legs were hurting. I can barely walk. What was I thinking? Trying to push my out of shape chubby body that far! I should have worked up to it.
The sad thing is, after my calorie counting and all that exercise, I gained 2 pounds this morning!!! I wanted to cry! Well I did. But then Abbey told me not to cry, and I bucked up.

7 month old Jaden

Wow, I can't believe Jaden is 7 months old. He is such a cute, smiley little guy! He smiles so easily.
Right now Jaden scoots across the floor on his belly. Not crawling yet, but I can tell, he wants to. But he still gets all around by scooting and rolling. He can sit on his own, he has been doing that for about a month now.
He isn't as good of an eater as Abbey was. Abbey liked every thing. Jaden will eat most every thing though. I am trying to get him use to drinking from a sippy, but he isn't a big fan of water.
He doesn't sleep through the night yet. That's hard. But we will see what happens. He has been sick for 3 weeks. Maybe once he is feeling better, he will sleep through the night better. I feel bad for him. He has been so sick and miserable for so long. Last night he didn't sleep a wink. We went to bed at 1:00am, he woke up at 2:20am and stayed a wake until 5:30am! Then woke up at 6:30am and again at 8:30am. So that means, I didn't get any sleep either.
But overall Jaden is doing great! we love him sooooo much!
Abbey has been teaching him to clap. It's so cute. She will sit by him, and grab his little pudgy hands and move his hands to clap, and she will say " clap, clap, clap" He will get this huge smile and squeal! then he will clap oh his own.
Abbey has bed rails up, and last night she still fell out of her bed. It was sad. I was down stairs with Jaden, and I heard a big thud up stairs. I called up to Robby, to see if he would check on her. He said, no, it's nothing. He didn't go check. So 45 min later I went up stairs, and thought I would check. She was on the floor huddled in a ball next to her cool mist humidifier. So the cold air was blowing on her poor little head for 45 min. poor Abbey doo.

We told Abbey that if she starts going poop in the toilet, we will take her to Chuck E cheese's! She goes poop all the time now in her potty. I don't even have to tell her any more. She just says, I need to poop, and she goes in and does her thing. Same with going pee.

So last night we went to Chuck E cheese's with the Hemara's. It was fun! The girls had a blast!

Abbey and her big girl undies

About 3 or 4 months ago Abbey learned how to say her ABC's, here she is singing it. This is her other favorite song, 3 little monkey's jumping on the bed, and twinkle twinkle little star.

I have some funny stories about Abbey. Saturday when Abbey went to the doctors. I was giving the receptionist her information. The receptionist asked me what her name was, and I said, "Abbey Wyatt." Abbey spoke up and said "No! I am Abbey MARIE Wyatt." she corrected me, I needed to tell the lady her full name!

Today I gave her a bath, and she was playing with her bath crayons. She has a white crayon, that she says is broken. (because it's white, it doesn't show up when she colors with it) So today she was telling us all the colors of her crayons and when she got to her white one, she said "this is white. It's broken." "Dad, can you get batteries for it?"

my hard week/weekend

This week has been a long hard week for me. We are trying to sell our house again. But we haven't had too many people come look at it. But our realtor tells us people are coming so I hurry and clean, clean, clean and try to keep it clean and spotless. It's hard to do with kids and messes they make and all their toys. Then those people never come! It's quite frustrating!!! That has been my whole week. I literally have to drop what I am doing, or come home from running errands when my realtor calls so I can spruce up my house. My house is not very messy, but I have to do the little things that gets messy with kids and every day living. It's just a pain. So when they don't show, it's hard.
Second Abbey and Jaden have been sick for 2 weeks! They both started out with stuffy, runny noses, which then turned into awful coughs!! So for a week both kids slept horrible! Most nights Robby and I only got 3 hours of sleep, With both kids waking up all night.
Then Robby got sick. So I am having to take care of every thing on my own. It's wearing me right out!!
I was excited for the weekend, thinking it would be a break. But not so. With Robby sick and the kids.
last night when Robby and I came home from the temple Abbey looked horrible! she had a fever and was out of it! She was having a harder time breathing, so I took her to urgent care. They took her oxygen and that was ok, but they were still concerned. So they took chest x-rays and she has pneumonia! They told me that I am lucky I brought her in when I did because it was just the beginning stages and her oxygen isn't low. They injected her with antibiotics. They told me ahead of time that the injections would hurt her so bad! They did! It was 2 huge needles in each leg. They injected her with lots of meds at once. They wanted it to get to her infected lungs fast. It was sooooo sad! I cried.
Her legs hurt so bad. Then I had to go get her more antibiotics. I was out late, it was a long night. Abbey was in a lot of pain and felt miserable. So my night was horrible.
We slept out at my parents because it was too late to drive home. So I stayed up with her until 1:30. As soon as she fell asleep, Jaden woke up and stayed awake sick until 3:00am. between 3:00am-and 6:30am Abbey and Jaden woke up 6 times! On top of that, the doctor wanted me to keep an eye on her breathing, so I couldn't sleep well. So that is my week in a nut shell.
But there were some good times too. One, the major one is Abbey is almost potty trained! I didn't have to do much at all to get her there.
In the past Abbey would refuse to sit on the toilet, and then last Tuesday out of the blue she wanted to pee on her potty. she wanted her diapers off and her underwear on and she just goes. for the first 2 days I had to keep taking her and reminding her to go, but now she just goes on her own. She will tell me she needs to go, and I take her. In 6 days she has only had 3 or 4 accidents in her undies. she wears diapers to bed, but that is it. So easy!!!! (knock on wood)

The day the crib came down

'I cried the day the crib came down.'

I didn't think it would be so hard for me to have Abbey sleep in a big girls bed, and not her crib any more. But it is. It makes me sad!!!

Are plan was to keep her crib up for awhile because it turns into a toddler day bed. Well it didn't come with bed rails. We looked at the stores and ksl, and no luck at finding any. She kept falling out every night. So we had to move her to the big bed in her room. We found and bought bed rails for that bed. But I wanted her to stay in that crib forever! Her cute little sheets, baby blankets and bumper is the past. Abbey always slept so cute in her crib. Most of her time she slept the short way, with her legs dangling out of the bars of the crib. So cute.

We moved the big bed over and found one of Abbey's old baby shirts behind the bed. It was a 3/6 month old shirt. Oh, I felt sad seeing that. It really made me think she was growing up, and growing up too fast! Gee Wiz.

all about the kids

I have some funny stories about Abbey.
I was sick for a while, so I decided to get a blessing. Our friend Justin came over to help Robby give me a blessing. When Justin came in Abbey said "Is Justin blessing you"? I thought that was cute. I was sitting on the couch, and Abbey next to me. They put their hands on my head and started the prayer. Then Abbey stands up and she puts her hands on theirs to help with the blessing! She stood there the whole time, not saying a word, just helping. We all tried so hard not to laugh!
The other day, I woke up ornery because I was tired. Abbey asked what was wrong, and I said "I am just so tired"! she said, " Lay on the couch, silly"!
She refuses to go potty on the toilet. When she poops she hides some where. So yesterday she was in her tent and she announced to me "Hey mom! I am in my tent, and I am pooping"!
A few months ago, as you may all recall, I played a horrible, scary prank on my cousin Ashlie. Well Abbey was at Ashlie's house while it happened. To this very day, she still brings it up! She always says. "Daddy, I no want you scare me no more at Ashee's house". " you have a scary mask". Then we say "ok, we wont any more". Then she tells us all over again what happened at Ashlie's. "Daddy run up stairs with scary mask, Ashee cries, and falls on the wall." She wont let me forget it. It's funny, but sad.
Every night we have family prayer. We each take turns. one night I say it and so on. It was Abbey's turn. Usually we tell her what to say. But this time she did it all by herself! It was funny. She said "thank you for my oatmeal, and my sauce that goes on my noodles for dinner". It was so cute!!
She still sleeps in her crib. She never has tried to climb out, so we let her stay in there. One time we asked if she wanted to sleep in her big girl bed. She said no, that she just wanted her crib. But last night, she wanted to sleep in the extra bed in her room. We let her and she slept good! She even took a good nap in that bed. I thought it would be hard to keep her in.
We decided to take her crib rail off and make it into a toddler bed. She was so excited.
She had never slept with a pillow before. So we got her one. We put a white pillow case on it. She didn't want that pillow. So she went searching in our closet for a different one. she came back with one that had pink flowers and green leaves on it. She said "there I find one. This one matches. I like it, it's pretty. It has pink flowers and green tree's on it."
So after all that work, changing the bed, I think she wants her crib back. We will see how tonight goes.
Lately she has been calling every one she can think of and singing songs to them. She has a list of songs she sings on the phone. One is her ABC's, then 3 little monkeys jumping on the bed, then bring home a baby bumble bee, and sometimes twinkle twinkle little star. She loves to sing!
she is learning to be very polite and good manners. She always says Thank you, please, your welcome and now she is learning yes sir, and yes ma'am. She will say Thank you sir, or ma'am. It's so cute. I am glad she is learning good manners at such a young age.
She's so fun. She is so easy at this age (most of the time) she learns so much, so fast! Her brain is always going. She listens well, helps me all the time!! likes to help, and clean. she loves to learn, and talk, talk, talk. It's great. I don't want her to get any older!
Jaden is all over the kitchen in his walker.
He loves to jump in his jumper.
He is playing with toys. Well I mean holding them, shaking them, and stuff like that.
He also loves to roll all over the living room! he rather lay and roll, then sit up.
He is learning to sit on his own. He almost has that down.
He is eating his cereal, and stage one baby foods well. But he still prefers the bottle, he loves his bottle!
He loves hair. If he cant have my hair, he gets mad. He loves phones and the remote. He will get mad if he cant have those as well.
His favorite person is still Abbey.
He is starting to finally sleep through the night! Gosh, that only took forever. He still wants to sleep with us, and we give in. He starts in his crib, and now is learning to sleep for longer periods of time in his crib, but always wakes up sometime during the night, and we give in and let him sleep with us. we are too tired to deal with it, and don't want his cries to wake Abbey. But it's ok. One day he wont be sleeping with us, and we will miss it. He is only this age for awhile. Jaden is a very good baby! we love him to pieces!

The great debate/ immunize, or not/ tell me your thoughts.

Yesterday Jaden had his 6 month check up. He is doing great, and is where he should be developmentally. He is 27 1/2 inches long, which is in the 75 percentile in height, and he is 21 lbs 5 oz, which is in the 90 percentile in weight. He is a big boy! For his check ups I always get him immunized. That is something I believe is the right thing to do. My sister and I both get our children immunized. The reasons why we do, is because the diseases that they can get if they don't get their shots, are horrible! It's proven that immunizing your children, greatly reduces their chances of getting those horrible diseases. Those diseases are diseases that in the past had killed many infants and children. We still have those diseases in many 3rd world countries. Infants and children are still dying from those diseases. 3rd world countries cant get the medicine like they would like. Our church and other churches and organizations have sent meds or money for immunizations to these counties. (Ethiopia being one of them). I think the "shots" the doctors give our kids, is great! Some may have side affects. But It's a VERY slim chance of getting them, and I rather take the chance then to have my kids get any disease, that these shots prevent. Now the new thing that people are saying, is that these shots that infants get, can cause autism. Well, that is yet to be proven. So until it is proven, I still feel it is best for children to get immunized. I know that allot of people chose not to, and that is their decision, and that's ok. I have never had a friend or any one tell me that I should not get my children their shots. But my sister on the other hand, had her 2 visiting teachers tell her that they couldn't believe she would get her kids immunized! That it was crazy that she would risk Houston getting autism. That they would never inject their babies with medicine. That babies are perfect, so they don't get sick. They told her that Babies don't get diseases. So not true! Babies get sick all the time! babies get diseases and die. They said as long as you breast feed, Houston will be ok. Again not true. Yes, breast feeding helps, but it's not a cure all. Many breast fed babies have been sick, and have gotten diseases and died. So comments like that,kind of made me mad, because they are false. Back in the days before we gave our children shots, infants and children died all the time from these diseases that immunizations prevent. so in my opinion, I think babies should be immunized. old fogies on new yrs

Because I have been sick, I haven't been on for a little bit. But I am feeling better now, and can write about my new year! With kids, there isn't too much you can do, or too many places you can go. At least, nothing we know of. Lindsey and Hemi are in the same boat as us, so we went out to my parents to hang out with them. We first went to dinner at the Mayan restaurant. We heard from others that the Mayan wasn't too good. But we wanted to try it for ourselves. We all really liked it. No complaints here. Well maybe 2 complaints. They had a small menu, not too much to choose from, and they are kinda pricey. But other then that we liked the food, entertainment, and it looks really cool in the restaurant. The girls loved it!
Our next plan was to head over to my parents for food, fun and games. Well we were too full from dinner to eat, and to tired to play games. We tried one game and got bored, then played another, and we were too tired to finish. Plus with 4 little kids, it was hard enough.
we all were counting the hours and minutes for midnight, so we could hit the hay! My parents haven't gone out for New yrs for I would say 10 yrs. So they were there with us, also trying to stay up. For my dad to stay up that late, is almost impossible. My dad couldn't take it any longer and went to bed at 11:30!!!! My opinion is, if you have stayed up until 11:30, just go all the way to 12. But not my dad, he always goes to bed at 11:30 on new yrs(Don't know why) .But my mom went up stairs and talked him into coming back down. More like lectured him, and called him a party pooper. so at 11:50 he came back down. So once 12 hit, we toasted, kissed and ran for our beds! Are we old fogies, or what?? Well the next night we made up for it. we ate goodies, rented a movie, played games and stayed up past 12. Well not every one. my parents didn't and Lindsey didn't make it.
