Mutton Bustin

These pictures are backwards. But here is Abbey with her 2nd place trophy, and Hannah with her medal. Brave little girls.

Hemi (my bro in law) signed up my niece Hannah and Abbey for Mutton Bustin. Abbey was prepared and excited for mutton bustin for a month.

The day of, She got all ready in her western shirt. She was ready, but a little nervous. That day Uncle Dallin practiced with her, by giving her rides on his back and giving her pointers.

On the way to mutton Bustin Abbey said "I can ride Dad, and uncle Dallin ok, but I don't think I can ride a animal like a sheep. Do they have peddles?"

She was scared standing in line and started crying and saying she didn't want to go. So we took her out and then she cried because she wanted to go. So we talked to her, and said a prayer with her and she was ok to go. when they put her on the sheep, she started crying and saying "No, I don't want to go." But it was too late then the shoot was opened and off the sheep ran! you could hear her crying all the way, but she held on for dear life and went far. She got Second place out of about 15 kids. She was the youngest one there too. The ages are 3-6. The boy who got first place was 5 or 6. So she did really good! She got a big trophy, a medal, and a gift certificate to get cow girl boots at AA calisters.

Hannah did really well too! She was brave, and went very first to lead the way! It was so fun to watch them. Abbey says she doesn't want to go again, unless she rides a sheep that will go slow. When she fell off the sheep, she had dirt in every crevasse.She had dirt clods in her helmet, and she had tore her pants in the crotch, and when she went to the bathroom, she had dirt filled in her underwear.

Taking care of business

Abbey had wanted to do a Lemonade stand for months. She finally got to do one. We made cookies and lemonade. Hannah and Abbey ran the table like professionals. They made some good money! They Each walked away with $8.40. Abbey first paid tithing, and she wants to buy a sparkly barbie bag, and a hula hoop.
Thanks to all the family who came up to support their business.
One funny story about telling Abbey about tithing and how it works. She doesn't quite understand completely. She asked if the money went to Joseph Smith and Nephi.

Memorial Weekend

We had planned to go to Montana over Memorial weekend. But because of the cold, snowy temps in Montana, we canceled our trip. Then we decided to stay at my grandpa's camp ground and camp out, but the weather was chilly and rainy, so that was canceled. We thought our Holiday weekend would be a wash out with nothing to do.

Friday Night we had a party/bbq up at my grandpa's campground. (I forgot to take pics.)

Then that night my sister Lindsey and her family, and bro Dallin and his wife came over for games and spent the night.

The next day we decided to get a room at the Marriot in Salt Lake, just for something different, and the kids could swim.

But before we went to the hotel, we took the kids to see shrek at the Theater. Then we met up with my parents and my grandpa for dinner at the coachman's restaurant.

All 10 of us squeezed into a hotel room. It did have 3 beds, and the kids slept on the floor. well except Jaden, he was sick that night and he ended up sleeping with us, well the little sleep we got.

The Hotel was a ton of fun!

The next day we went to church and then had a BBQ at my house and had smores in my back yard fire pit. (again I forgot to take pics of that)

My sis and her family spent the night again, and the next day (Monday) we took the kids to the park for a picnic. The kids had a blast.

Hannah and Abbey are only 5 1/2 months apart, but look at their height difference! I just noticed how much shorter Abbey is.

After the park the kids took a nap, The men played X-box and Lindsey and I went to get pedicures.

The last hoorah! we went to dinner at Texas Road house.
Our weekend that we thought would be a boring, do nothing weekend, turned out to be so fun! we had a blast!
